Supporting younger people with dementia and their carer partners.
The support group is held every Tuesday from 10.30am till 12.30pm and is for both people living with early onset dementia and their carer partners as well.
It is a friendly and informal group meeting, based around cups of tea or coffee and a biscuit or two. We have regular visits from representives of the likes of the Alzheimer's Society and mental health nurses from the NHS.
Most importantly we provide a friendly understanding environment and a shoulder to lean on if needed, our aim is to provide help and aid so that people living with early onset dementia, can live as near a normal life as possible.
We also try to arrange trips out to museums, open gardens or boat trips on the broads, as well as asking people to come and visit us to give talks or help and advice on all sorts of subjects, such as Lasting Power of Attorney, home care etc.
Our aim is to set up more groups to help people with early onset dementia and hopefully this will start happening in 2023.
